Testing criteria for the Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) test

The pass/fail limits are set by the ITU-T standard G.821. The following are what the standard calls for:

  • Errored Seconds ratio must be less than 1,2%
  • The Severely Errored Seconds ratio must be less than 0,015%
  • There must be no unavailable seconds
  • The Bit Error Rate should not exceed 1,1 E-003
